The setting
The Ave G beach access is about a 5-minute golf-cart ride away, and a golf cart, bookable through PAVC on the website, is the easiest way to reach the sand and explore the island. The Alister Street shops, restaurants, and bars at the heart of Old Town are roughly a 2-minute drive away. Island dining spans Castaways Seafood and Grill in central Old Town to FINS Grill & Icehouse and Tortuga's Saltwater Grill nearby. Shorty's Place has been on the scene since 1946, about as close to a Port Aransas institution as it gets.
